Meet Alicia Hickson, Founder of Rayma Health

Alicia Hickson (nee Halikas), MSPAS, PA-C, is the visionary founder of Rayma Health, a practice rooted in the belief that healing is best achieved through a comprehensive, integrative, and personalized approach. Alicia brings a wealth of clinical experience, academic achievement, and heartfelt dedication to her work in functional and integrative medicine.

Alicia earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biokinetics with an emphasis in Human Bioenergetics, along with a minor in Psychology from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her early research focused on the profound impact of nutrition on chronic disease reversal, leading to several co-authored published papers examining diet’s role in conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and mild cognitive impairment.

Her career has spanned global and local stages—from serving as a Medical Mission Coordinator in the Philippines to helping patients navigate complex chronic conditions back home. Alicia is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Bredesen Protocol Certified, and a Certified Metabolic Approach to Cancer (MAPC) Provider through Nasha Winters’ program. She continues her advanced training under the mentorship of leading metabolic researcher Dr. Thomas Seyfried, PhD, and collaborate with nutritional oncology expert Miriam Kalamian.

With a special focus on metabolic therapies for cancer, cognitive decline, autoimmune conditions, gut health, hormonal imbalances, environmental toxicity, and Lyme disease, Alicia designs customized, evidence-informed care plans for each patient. Her clinical philosophy centers on empowering individuals to become active participants in their healing, using tools like nutritional IV therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), therapeutic fasting, and advanced lifestyle medicine.

Beyond the clinic, Alicia finds joy in fishing with her two young boys and her husband. She’s also passionate about culinary creativity, clean eating, calligraphy, and continuous learning. Known for her empathy, perseverance, and holistic mindset, Alicia is deeply committed to helping people become the healthiest version of themselves—body, mind, and spirit.
