The Heart Behind Rayma Health
Ever since she was young, Alicia knew she wanted to go into medicine—and she also knew she wanted to have a family one day. Both dreams were always close to her heart, and they shaped so many of the decisions she made growing up.
Halfway through college, Alicia made a big decision to transfer to Bethel University. She wanted to grow in her faith because she knew it was something she wanted to pass on to her future children. It wasn’t just about getting a degree anymore—it was about laying a foundation for the kind of life she wanted to build.
On her very first day at Bethel, one of her professors—who happened to be an integrative medicine provider—began teaching the class. That moment changed everything. The professor introduced concepts in integrative medicine, the work of Dr. Thomas Seyfried, and a whole new way of looking at health and healing. But even more than that, she spoke about the importance of building faith as a core part of life and calling.
She challenged the students to find their rhema—a word in Hebrew that means God’s outspoken word for their lives. That stuck with Alicia. The phrase that immediately came to her heart—and has stayed with her ever since—was:
“Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)
Through the stress of school, life’s challenges, and all the ups and downs that come with pursuing something meaningful, that verse became Alicia’s anchor—a constant reminder to pause, trust, and remember who’s truly in control.
Opening a clinic was a vision Alicia had carried in her heart for years, and when it came time to choose a name, the answer was clear. Her rhema led her to name it Rayma Health—a space where others could find peace, healing, and maybe even hear their own word from God in the middle of their storm.
Alicia’s prayer is that every person who walks through the doors of Rayma Health feels seen, supported, and filled with hope. And if Rayma Health can help calm even a part of someone’s storm, it is an honor to be part of their story.
